Colts expect TE Jack Doyle (hip) to miss OTAs

Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle is expected to miss organized team activities (OTAs) after having undergone successful hip surgery during the offseason.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard confirmed Wednesday at the NFL Combine during a press conference that Doyle underwent hip surgery and is expected to miss OTAs.

Ballard did add that they are hopeful the veteran tight end will be ready for training camp.

Ballard also commented saying Doyle’s kidneys are doing well, which was the injury that eventually landed him on the injured reserve list following the Week 12 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Doyle suffered through injuries during the 2018 season. He had a hip subluxation in Week 2, which forced him to miss the next five games. He returned in Week 8 until suffering the kidney injury against the Dolphins, which ended his season.

Doyle played in six games (all starts) while recording 26 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns.
