Colts’ Devin Funchess isn’t expected to practice this week

The Indianapolis Colts (5-2) are back on the practice field Wednesday to prepare for the road trip against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-4) in Week 9, but wide receiver Devin Funchess isn’t expected to participate.

Colts head coach Frank Reich addressed the media before Wednesday’s practice, saying Funchess isn’t expected to practice at all this week as he works his way back from the injured reserve list.

Funchess has been on injured reserve since he suffered a broken collarbone during the Colts’ Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He is eligible to return in Week 11.

The 25-year-old wide receiver is on a one-year deal with the Colts but hasn’t been able to prove his worth due to the injury. He appears to be a good fit for the offense, but Indy hasn’t been able to use his services for the majority of the campaign.

The Colts could use the help at wide receiver, but it appears Funchess’ return to the lineup isn’t imminent.
