Colts designate G Quenton Nelson to return from IR

The Indianapolis Colts designated left guard Quenton Nelson and wide receiver Dezmon Patmon to return from the injured reserve list on Wednesday, per the league’s transaction wire.

Nelson is coming off of his third consecutive missed game due to a high-ankle sprain and the fact that he’s been designated to return means there’s a chance the Colts get him back for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.

Patmon went on the injured reserve list before the season started to he logged his first practice of the campaign on Wednesday.

With both players being designated for return, the team has 21 days to activate them to the 53-man roster. If they don’t do so before the window expires, they will remain on the injured reserve list for the remainder of the season.

The Colts also designated to return rookie defensive lineman Dayo Odyeingbo, who was spotted at his first practice of the season as well. Odeyingbo is currently on the Non-Football injury list and isn’t eligible to play until Week 9 at the earliest.

The Colts also signed Chris Williams to the practice squad.
