Colts’ Daurice Fountain carted off practice field

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Daurice Fountain has been fighting incredibly for one of the final roster spots in the room, but his training camp took a turn for the worse during Thursday’s joint practice with the Cleveland Browns.

In the final training camp practice of the year, Fountain suffered a non-contact injury and was on the ground screaming in pain. Head coach Frank Reich was kneeling next to Fountain as several medical staff members tended to the second-year wide receiver.

The cart was eventually brought out for Fountain.

Fountain has been having an incredible camp in a crowded wide receiver room. He’s been making huge plays on a daily basis and led the team with five receptions and 63 yards in the preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills.

It isn’t clear how serious the injury is, but Fountain was fighting for one of the final roster spots. Reich will likely address the injury following practice.
