Colts’ Darius Leonard (concussion) to return to practice

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard appears to be working his way through the concussion protocol and is expected to return to practice on Wednesday.

As the Colts open the week of practice ahead of the primetime matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Frank Reich told media members that Leonard will be limited on Wednesday.

Reich also gave an update on wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, who is not practicing Wednesday due to a quad injury.

If Leonard is able to get through the protocol this week and play Sunday night against the Chiefs, that would be a big boost for a struggling Colts defense that is already being viewed as massive underdogs on the road.

There are still more steps for Leonard to go through the clear the league’s protocol, and returning to practice Wednesday is one of them.
