Colts claim OL Jake Eldrenkamp from Patriots

The Indianapolis Colts claimed guard Jake Eldrenkamp off of the waivers from the New England Patriots and waived offensive tackle De’Ondre Wesley, the team announced Tuesday.

Eldrenkamp (6’5, 300) originally signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent following the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season on the Rams practice squad and was eventually waived before the 2018 season during final roster cuts.

Eldrenkamp has also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and signed a futures contract with the Patriots in January 2019. He was waived when the team re-signed defensive tackle Danny Shelton.

The Washington product has yet to play a game in the NFL. He will be joining an offensive line that will be under heavy competition along the interior.

Wesley, who signed a futures contract with the Colts in January, will now hit waivers. If he clears waivers, he will become an unrestricted free agent.
