Colts claim Derrick Kindred off waivers from Browns

Derrick Kindred didn’t have to wait long to find his new NFL team. After being waived by the Browns earlier in the week, the former Cleveland safety heads to Indianapolis to join the Colts.

The Colts claimed Kindred off waivers. They were 26th in the waiver wire order, so most teams passed on picking up Kindred and the remainder of his contract.

Kindred spent his first three NFL seasons with the Browns, starting 17 games and playing a big role as the box safety and run blitzing off the edge in former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams’ aggressive scheme. He notched 45 tackles and 1 INT in 2018.
