Colts claim CB Ryan Lewis off waivers

The Indianapolis Colts took a look at the waiver wire on Sunday and while they reportedly didn’t put a claim on a quarterback, they did add cornerback Ryan Lewis.

Initially signing as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals out of Pittsburgh, Lewis has also spent time with the New England Patriots and most recently the Buffalo Bills.

The claim was first reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network and confirmed by Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star.

He played in seven games (three starts) with the Bills during the 2018 season. He recorded 15 tackles (12 solo), three passes defended and two forced fumbles.

Lewis joins a crowded cornerback room that includes Pierre Desir, Kenny Moore, Rock Ya-Sin, Quincy Wilson, Marvell Tell and Chris Milton.
