Colts’ Chris Milton played with torn ligament in his thumb in 2018

Indianapolis Colts cornerback and special teams gunner Chris Milton played with a torn ligament in his thumb throughout the 2018 season.

With most of his snaps coming on special teams, Milton was a key piece to the unit as the gunner. Still, he played with a torn ligament and had a procedure to correct the issue this offseason, per Joel A. Erickson of Indy Star.

Milton only played 5.3 percent of the defensive snaps in 2018, but he did play 60.8 percent of the special teams snaps, which was fourth-most among all Colts. Milton has held that type of role for the past two seasons.

Milton is a restricted free agent this offseason, which means the Colts can offer him a tender for the 2019 season before he hits free agency. Should Milton hit free agency and receive an offer, the Colts have the right to match the offer.

There haven’t been any indications whether Milton will be back or not, but he showed toughness playing with a torn ligament in his thumb during the season.
