Colts C Ryan Kelly still in COVID-19 protocol, expected to practice Tuesday

Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly remains in the COVID-19 protocol as the team comes out of the bye week but the expectation is that he will practice when the week opens on Tuesday.

Kelly tested positive just before the Colts were set to visit the Houston Texans in Week 13. He wound up missing that game and is still on the reserve/COVID-19 list as of Monday, but head coach Frank Reich expects Kelly to return on Tuesday.

While Kelly was out, the Colts got a good look at second-year offensive lineman Danny Pinter, who had a strong game in both phases as the starting center against the Texans.

But with a crucial matchup coming up for the Colts when they host the AFCs top-seeded New England Patriots in Week 15, they are going to want to have Kelly back.

Fortunately, it appears Kelly will return, barring a change, on Tuesday when the Colts begin practice leading up to the Saturday prime-time game.
