Colts’ Andrew Luck won’t participate in joint practices with Browns

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is still working his way through a lingering a calf injury, and it will keep him out of the joint practices with the Cleveland Browns this week.

Addressing the media following Monday’s training camp practice at the Grand Park Sports Campus, head coach Frank Reich said Luck won’t be practicing in the two joint sessions with the Browns and will continue to do work behind doors with Tom House.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise but merely an update. The 29-year-old has been trying to work through the soft tissue injury that first popped up in May. He’s been progressing here and there, but the pain still resides.

It has been said that if Luck had to play a game on Sunday, it is likely he would suit up. The quarterback himself said he has played through more pain than he is experiencing with the calf, but they want to make sure it’s 100% before giving him a full workload.

This will continue to be a storyline to watch over the next three weeks leading up to the season, but we won’t be seeing Luck on the field anytime in the next week.
