Colts’ Andrew Luck will not practice this week

As the Indianapolis Colts enter preparation for the third week of the preseason, quarterback Andrew Luck will not be participating in practice, per head coach Frank Reich.

The 29-year-old quarterback is still rehabbing his calf/ankle injury. Reich said the combination of full speed movement and pain threshold is what is keeping Luck off the field.

Despite Luck looking strong in his pregame warmups, it appears he is still dealing with pain—enough to keep him from practicing.

The Colts are expected to make their decision on the starting quarterback for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers following Saturday’s preseason matchup with the Chicago Bears.

In Luck’s absence, Jacoby Brissett will continue to work as the starting quarterback followed by Chad Kelly and Phillip Walker.
