Colts’ Andrew Luck predicted to lead NFL in passing TDs

With some new weapons at his disposal, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is in line to have a strong season in 2019, which could lead him to be one of the top passers yet again.

Luck, who had the second-most touchdown passes in the NFL last season, was predicted to lead that category in 2019 by Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report.

The Colts also signed wideout Devin Funchess, who should become a viable threat in the red zone due to his 6’4″, 225-pound frame. With an array of big targets in the pass-catching group, Reich should feel comfortable putting the ball in Luck’s hands inside the 20-yard line, resulting in a high number of touchdowns through the air.

Luck’s projected total: 44

Luck certainly has what he needs to break his career-high of 40 passing touchdowns in a season—which came during the 2014 campaign.

The Colts added some new weapons for Luck in the form of Funchess and speedy second-round pick Parris Campbell to go along with the cemented trio of Jack Doyle, Eric Ebron and T.Y. Hilton.

The Colts were an efficient unit when it came to scoring in the red zone, which should continue in Year 2 under head coach Frank Reich.

Even with the league having so many great passers leading their teams, Luck should be considered a candidate to lead the NFL in passing touchdowns.
