Colts’ Andrew Luck not practicing due to calf strain

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck isn’t participating in the first organized team activity session on Tuesday due to a calf strain.

Luck, who came off of shoulder surgery in 2018 brilliantly, shouldn’t be considered a player with a serious injury. It’s reported to be a minor injury, but the Colts won’t be taking any chances this time of year.

The 29-year-old franchise quarterback enjoyed his first full offseason in a number of years coming off of a 2018 campaign that saw him win the Comeback Player of the Year award.

Luck completed 67.3% of his passes for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 98.7 passer rating. It was the most efficient season of his career, proving he will thrive with Frank Reich running the offense.

It isn’t clear how long Luck will be nursing the calf strain, but the Colts are simply being cautious and not taking any chances.
