Colts’ Andrew Luck given 6/1 odds to win NFL MVP

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is poised to have another big season in 2019, and some oddsmakers believe he has what it takes to be a top candidate for the MVP award.

With some new pass-catching weapons behind a stout offensive line, Luck is in line to have one of his best seasons if all goes according to plan. That has him listed with the third-highest MVP odds—behind Patrick Mahomes and Carson Wentz—per Caesars Palace.

Luck finished the 2019 campaign with his most efficient line to date. His career highs in completion percentage (67.3) and passer rating (98.7) held true throughout the season while he also tossed the second-most touchdown passes (39), trailing only the aforementioned Mahomes.

In order for Luck to truly be in the running for the MVP award, everything has to go right. The offense must stay unpredictable in Year 2, the offensive line must remain healthy with its starting five and the pass catchers all have to make a major impact.

Luck will have some new weapons into the fray for the upcoming season with wide receivers Devin Funchess and Parris Campbell being added to mix. How much of an impact they will make early on remains to be seen, but they have a chance to carve out some big roles in the offense.

The 29-year-old is in a perfect situation to thrive yet again in 2019, and it could lead to him as a leading candidate for the MVP award.
