Colts 2018 player review: CB Kenny Moore

The Indianapolis Colts secondary took a nice step forward during the second half of the regular season large in part due to the play of second-year cornerback Kenny Moore.

Moore was a constant for the Colts throughout the regular season, but he really turned it on during the second half. Working mainly from the slot, Moore proved he could win in press while also working in both man and zone coverages.

Moore started 15 games during the regular season while recording 77 tackles (63 solo), 11 passes defended, three interceptions and 1.5 sacks.

Working in a heavy zone scheme, Moore was used in a variety of ways. The undrafted cornerback was used in man, zone and press coverage while defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus took a liking to using him as a nickel blitzer.

Moore was one of the most consistent defensive players the Colts had in 2018, and his reliability was off the charts given that he played 86.9 percent of the defensive snaps, which was most among cornerbacks and third-most on the entire defense.

The Colts will likely add some depth to the cornerback room this offseason either through free agency or the NFL Draft, but Moore should continue to be a cornerstone of the unit after having a solid campaign in 2018.
