The Washington Redskins will have Colt McCoy around for OTAs in at least a limited capacity.
McCoy makes his return after an additional surgery on his leg.
The Redskins are counting on McCoy to have an impact in the quarterback battle during training camp. He is, after all, the passer with the most experience in the offense with Alex Smith still recovering.
McCoy doesn’t figure to have a big advantage due to this though. The Redskins traded for Case Keenum to give themselves some flexibility but ended up not needing it by selecting Dwayne Haskins in the first round.
Still, at a position like quarterback, the more competitive options the better.
