A large-scale maze featuring myriad light-emitting diode lamps has been set up at the roadside station Kobe Fruits Flower Park Ozo in Kita Ward, Kobe.
The setting is part of an outdoor event called Kobe Illuminage 2020 that the Japan Illumination Association has organized.
About 5 million LED lamps help create a romantic atmosphere by spotlighting an enormous maze in which animal-shaped objects have been placed.
"It's big and beautiful! I enjoyed it without concerns about [coronavirus] infection because it is so spacious," said a 29-year-old woman from Ikuno Ward, Osaka.
The area is scheduled to be lit up nightly from 5:30 to 9:30 through Jan. 31 next year.
Admission is 1,500 yen for adults and 800 yen for elementary school-age children and younger, except kids under 3.
