What’s Going To Happen
Colorado State is 1-5 with its only win coming against Western Illinois, but it’s not like any of the five losses were totally unacceptable.
Maybe losing to Toledo at home doesn’t work, but Colorado, at Arkansas, at Utah State, San Diego State – that’s nothing to be totally ashamed of.
Meanwhile, New Mexico is busy losing to Liberty and San Jose State, and struggling to get by Sam Houston State and New Mexico State.
The Lobos, though, have just enough of a running game to be terrific at home. They’ve run for over 200 yards in each of their last four games, and now they’re getting a Colorado State defensive front that’s getting ripped to shreds.
However, there’s no New Mexico passing game, and turnovers are a big, big problem.
And the Lobos are dead last in college football in pass defense.
Finally, Colorado State gets to have a little fun. QB Patrick O’Brien will roll up close to 400 yards to balance out the team’s defensive woes against the Lobo ground attack. Expect a whole lot of home runs.
