Colorado Senate challenger reverses position on Trump

WASHINGTON _ Colorado Republican Senate candidate Darryl Glenn reversed his position on whether Donald Trump should step aside.

Ahead of and during his Tuesday debate with Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, Glenn said he wanted to meet with Trump before making a final decision.

But after a video was released Friday showing Trump talking about making unwanted sexual advances, Glenn initially said that Trump should do the "honorable" thing and step aside for vice presidential nominee Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to run in his place.

No meeting has yet been arranged, Glenn's campaign said.

"I wonder what really changed (about Trump)," Bennet said, adding that "as the father of three daughters I didn't hear an apology."

A number of Republican congressional candidates and incumbents have abandoned Trump or have called for him to step aside. Others have condemned his remarks on the tape but have said they will continue to support the Republican nominee.

The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rates the race as "Safe Democrat."
