Shohei Ohtani’s two-way brilliance in Major League Baseball has been on full display for multiple seasons, giving fans a level of skill they haven’t seen since the play of Babe Ruth.
However, the Angels’ star may soon have to share the throne with Colorado two-way sensation Travis Hunter after his spectacular performance in the Buffaloes’ 45-42 upset on Saturday against No. 17 TCU.
In the first half alone, Hunter played a total of 65 snaps on both sides of the ball, leaving fans in awe of his miraculous playmaking ability in the passing game—despite missing two deep balls from quarterback Shedeur Sanders—as well as coverage in the secondary.
However, that was only a preview for the former Jackson State transfer. In the second half, Hunter registered a dazzling interception deep in Colorado’s territory to prevent a Horned Frogs’ score.
That interception eventually sparked a back-and-forth shootout between the two schools that saw Hunter finish with 11 catches for 119 yards while recording the launching interception and logging more than 100 snaps in the game.
Only one game into the season and Deion Sanders’s tenure at Colorado, Hunter’s play has already reached peak comparison to the greats like Ohtani.
