Colonial now has landed five of world's top 10 golfers. Here's the latest to commit.

The Colonial has landed another top 10 golfer.

Patrick Reed became the latest big-name player to commit for the Charles Schwab Challenge next month at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. The PGA Tour will resume its season at the Colonial after suspending play in mid-March amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Reed, the 2018 Masters champion, is ranked No. 7 in the world. With Reed committing to the event, the Colonial now has five of the top 10 players along with Brooks Koepka (No. 3), Dustin Johnson (No. 5), Webb Simpson (No. 9) and Tommy Fleetwood (No. 10).

Reed has played in three Colonials before with his last appearance in 2016. His best finish is a tie for 15th in 2016.

Other notable additions include former Fort Worth resident Jason Day, the former No. 1-ranked player who is now No. 51. Day, best known for winning the 2015 PGA Championship, last played the Colonial in 2011. His best finish is fourth place in 2009.

Englishman Danny Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, is also in the field and will be making his Colonial debut.

The field currently has 102 players committed. It's scheduled to be a 144-player event, although champions prior to 2000 do not count against the 144-man limit.

Past champions such as Keith Clearwater (1987), Tom Lehman (1995), David Frost (1997) and Olin Browne (1999) are in the field.
