Colombian President Gustavo Petro slammed the Trump administration yet again, claiming a recent attack against an alleged drug boat took place inside the country's territorial waters.
"U.S. officials have committed murder and violated our sovereignty," Petro said in a social media publication. He went on to say that the targeted boat was not carrying drugs, but rather operated by a fisherman whose vessel had malfunctioned.

"Fisherman Alejandro Carranza did not have ties with narcos," Petro added, making reference to the strike that took place on September 16. "The Colombian boat was adrift and signed malfunction with its engine tilted upwards. We await for explanations from the U.S."
In another publication, Petro requested the prosecutor's office to "immediately grant protection to family members who are victims and get them together, if they want, to the victims of Trinidad and Tobago to start legal action around the world and before the U.S. judiciary."
Petro has repeatedly criticized the Trump administration over its strikes against alleged drug boats in the region and the pressure campaign against the Maduro regime in Venezuela.
Earlier this week he said the country "must be taken to the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly." "The U.S. has just broken the Human Rights Commission's resolution and the case must be taken to the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly," Petro said.
