Colmore Partners chooses The Grand for new Birmingham office

A start-up firm of independent financial planners has moved to new offices in the heart of Birmingham's business district.

Colmore Partners has taken 772 sq ft of space on the first floor of the grade II* Imperial and Whitehall offices in The Grand, Colmore Row.

The firm has signed a five-year lease with landlord Hortons' Estate.

Colmore Partners was founded by Richard Meek and Wendy Fellows who together have more than 50 years of experience in the financial services industry.

The consultancy is staff-owned and employs a team of five people, supported by an advisory board from different professional backgrounds.

It is the second recent letting at Imperial and Whitehall after energy technology company Octopus Energy took 1,123 sq ft on the first floor earlier this year.

Mr Meek said: "I'm thrilled to secure space in the heart of the Birmingham business community, in such an iconic building as The Grand.

"It was always our intention to take prime Birmingham office space, in line with the plans we made when we launched the business in March.

"We look forward to welcoming our clients and contacts alike."

A long-running regeneration programme has been carried out in recent years at The Grand which has seen a new hotel open earlier this year while retailer such as Up and Running, coffee shop 200 Degrees and cocktail bar The Alchemist are among those to have taken space.

Nina Meeks, management surveyor with Hortons' Estate, added: "We are very pleased that Colmore Partners has chosen Imperial and Whitehall as its long-term home.

"It is an iconic building that has been associated with the Hortons family since the 1870s and we have invested in its refurbishment to exceptional standards."
