Colm Cooper says concerns over Dublin's dominance are at a 'really critical point'

Colm Cooper believes concerns over Dublin's footballing dominance are at a 'really critical point'.

The Dubs cruised into their sixth consecutive All-Ireland senior final with a 1-24 to 0-12 win over Cavan on Saturday night and will face Mayo in the December 19 decider.

The Gooch says the distribution of finances needs to be looked at.

Speaking on The Sunday Game on RTE, he said: "I think there is genuine concern and I think we are reaching a really critical point in that juncture.

"I just wonder about the strategy. Is there any appetite to re-look at the financing? Do other counties need more support?

"There is no doubt that they have huge financial support and probably created a monster by doing that and Dublin have operated fantastically and so efficient with it. Their county board, CEO, professionalism and commercial revenue, it's all put to excellent effect."

The Kerry legend believes people could lose interest in football due to Dublin's dominance.

He added: "If they continue to win as easy as they're looking like, they'll have 80,000 in an All-Ireland final but they might not fill Croke Park for any other matches because they're so far ahead."

His comments come after Bernard Brogan said it is sad to see the Dublin players being accused of financial doping.

He told The Irish Mirror: "It's unfortunate that this is the conversation that's going around one of the greatest teams we've ever had, one that will hopefully continue improving the standards by playing in such an exciting, fun and forward-orientated way...all the good things that you want to see.

"It's just sad that the legacy that this team is building has been clouded by the conversation around money and money-doping."
