Collision with 4WD on NSW Central Coast leaves boy, 12, with serious injuries and another child in hospital

A 12-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after a collision between a vehicle and a pushbike on the New South Wales Central Coast.  

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Sydney Avenue and Ocean Beach Road, Umina Beach, about 7.15pm on Friday amid reports a 4WD and a pushbike had collided.

A 12-year-old boy, who was being doubled on the pushbike, received serious injuries and was airlifted to Sydney Children's Hospital.

The other bike rider, 11, suffered leg injuries and was in a stable condition in Gosford Hospital.

The driver of the 4WD, a 59-year-old woman, was not hurt. She was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory testing. Police have not released the results.

A crime scene was established at the scene of the colision and police are investigating.
