A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a truck at Monash on Sunday.

Emergency services including ACT Ambulance, ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Policing were called at 11.40am to the scene of the collision at the intersection of Ashley Drive and Barraclough Crescent in the southern Canberra suburb.

Paramedics treated the motorcyclist at the scene, however he died later at hospital.

Ashley Drive northbound was closed for a number of hours while emergency services conducted investigations.

ACT Policing is investigating the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Emergency services earlier on Sunday afternoon advised motorists to avoid the area while Ashley Drive northbound was closed at Barraclough Crescent and traffic was diverted.

By 4.20pm, ACT Policing told motorists that Ashley Drive and Barraclough Crescent were clear.

Police said in a statement the incident was the fourth fatality on an ACT road this year.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage from about the time of the incident at Monash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
