)Collingwood's AFLW premiership hopes have taken a hit, with Jordan Membrey ruled out for the remainder of the season because of a serious knee injury.
The 25-year-old forward went down in the third quarter of the ladder-leading Magpies' thumping 35-point victory over Melbourne at Victoria Park on Sunday.
Scans on Monday revealed Membrey ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee.
"The whole program is heartbroken for Jordy," Collingwood women's sport general manager Jane Woodlands-Thompson said in a statement.
"In true Jordy nature, she remains in good spirits and is determined to contribute to the campaign in another capacity."
After a relatively quiet season on the injury front throughout the league, the loss of Membrey adds to that of Geelong star Olivia Purcell, who also ruptured her ACL in round five.
The Cats young gun suffered the major setback in the second quarter of her side's 47-point loss to Richmond on Friday night.
The Bulldogs confirmed Deanna Berry is sidelined until next year, with scans confirming she sustained an ACL injury in her right knee.
The 22-year-old was injured against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday, taking some of the shine off the Bulldogs' impressive 25-point win.
