Collin Morikawa’s emotional message to Tiger Woods after winning WGC event

Collin Morikawa is quickly becoming a star on the PGA Tour and on Sunday he accomplished something that only Tiger Woods has done – his win at the WGC-Workday Championship made him just the second player (besides Woods) in history to win a major and a WGC event by the age of 25.

The 24 year old, who is the defending PGA Championship winner, cruised to a three-stroke win at The Concession Golf Club, a course that proved to be as difficult as we all thought it would be at the beginning of the event.

After his win, Morikawa took a moment to deliver a heartfelt message to Tiger Woods, who is still in the hospital in Los Angeles following his car crash last Tuesday.

This was really great:

Tiger means everything to me. And yes, he had the crash and thankfully he’s alright and hopefully he has a quick and great recovery. But I don’t think we say thank you enough so I want to say thank you to Tiger because sometimes you lose people too early… Kobe, I lost my grandpa about a month ago and you don’t get to say thank you enough. So, thank you guys.

That’s very well said and very true.
