Colliers International wins Mell Square brief

Property consultancy Colliers International has won the contract to manage a West Midlands shopping centre.

The company is now operating the 627,000 sq ft Mell Square in Solihull.

Its Birmingham-based team will manage 90 retail units, three office buildings and the new food and beverage destination in the central square which is occupied by independent brands Green's, Vita and Taste Collective.

The 1960s shopping centre, located in Mill Lane, includes anchor retailers Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's, Argos and Boots and is visited by more than a million customers annually.

Owner IM Properties bought the centre in 2013 from Aviva Investors and has plans to develop it further.

Colliers International's investment property management division team manages more than 40 shopping centres and retail parks across the country.
