We did not have the best week last week as we ended Saturday at 2-2. The Oregon Ducks slaughtered the BYU Cougars and my assumption that Notre Dame would bounce back was wrong as they are still in the driver seat of the struggle bus after barely winning against the California Bears.
The Oklahoma Sooners held their end of the bargain though as they destroyed the Nebraska Huskers and N.C. State Wolfpack had a nice outing against Texas Tech. Let’s see what damage we can make on Thursday.
Coastal Carolina -2.5 Georgia State
Last season Georgia State was able to earn a narrow 42-40 victory over Coastal Carolina, but the Chanticleers are looking for revenge and coming in with a ton of confidence at 3-0 with decent wins against Army, Buffalo, and Garner Webb. I am a big fan of this Coastal Carolina running game and with them calling an average of 35.7 runs per game, they should be able to win the time of possession battle and play keep away. I’m laying the points.
West Virginia at Virginia Tech (+2.5)
Virginia Tech is a road dog against an awkward West Virginia team that has no defense. I’m not going to overthink this one. These two teams are on the same level and playing Lane Stadium is never an easy task. These Hokies maybe down, but this is still a strong defense with a very talented defensive backfield. I’m taking the points.
