College Football Week 9 Free Predictions

Another week in college football and another big upset as head towards Week 9. Last week, Illinois shocked the world by upsetting Wisconsin as a 30.5-point underdog, 24-23. That might end up being the biggest Power 5 upset of the season. This week, No. 13 Wisconsin is back at it, this time taking on No. 3 Ohio State as a big road favorite, No. 15 Texas is at TCU and No. 9 Auburn travels to Baton Rouge to take on No. 2 LSU.

*Texas had a scare last week when they barely edged Kansas at home, 50-48, giving 20. While the Longhorns defense remains a concern, they should get better playing a TCU team that has lost three of four games. Texas was looking ahead last week. Sam Ehlinger has a big game against a TCU defense that has been good against the pass overall, but has struggled against tougher competition. Lay the small number on the road with the Horns.
*This is the first really big test for Ohio State this season. They have destroyed everybody they’ve faced including Michigan State by 24 and Northwestern last week by 49. The Badgers controlled the clock for nearly 41 minutes against Illinois and still lost because they had three turnovers and gave up several big plays. There’s no doubt that the Badgers were looking ahead last week against Illinois. The last two games in this series were close. Take Wisc and the road dog.
*It’s a battle of Tigers in Baton Rouge. The key for Auburn is whether freshman quarterback Bo Nix can handle the pressure in Death Valley. LSU has passed every test thus far with flying colors. Joe Burrow continues his climb to the final three in the Heisman voting. Take the home-team Tigers here as the DD favorite.
