EA Sports released a new College Football 26 update this morning, focusing on gameplay fixes, Road to Glory adjustments and some online stability improvements.
Linebackers should now move more realistically when defending the run as they simply weren’t moving at their expected speeds. A glitch where blocked kicks wouldn’t play out properly with left-footed kickers has been resolved, along with a rare issue that sometimes prevented the ball from being snapped after a specific button combo. Plays that gave wide receivers an unintended speed boost on certain Reverse Pass calls have also been cleaned up.
There’s also been some tuning to shrink the window for pulling off a “Perfectly Timed” stiff-arm. EA says they’re still working on a bigger fix to better balance the stiff-arm mechanic in a future update. If you’re trying to slow down stiff arms, flicking the right stick down triggers a “Cut Stick” that goes low and takes out the runner’s legs. It’s already in the game, and the team’s encouraging players to mess around with it while they keep collecting feedback.
Interception chances have been slightly improved too with more work coming to address dropped picks down the line. The team made a couple of Road to Glory adjustments as well.
- Reduced the positive/negative impacts of team Per Play Grading events for MIKE and CB.
- Increased the positive/negative impacts of user Per Play Grading events for MIKE and CB. (coverage, interceptions, forcing a fumble, touchdowns, etc.)
The next title update is expected to include a number of improvements and EA plans to break it all down in an upcoming Campus Huddle.
