Melbourne–based curator and lawyer Alana Kushnir puts the focus on Australian artist Christian Thompson in an exhibition about the intersection between art and fashion.

The inaugural Charles Perkins scholar and first Aboriginal Australian to be admitted to Oxford university, Thompson is known to appropriate traditional Aboriginal iconography and combine it with fashion-related imagery and his original art works.

As a curator Kushnir is interested in the extinction and rediscovery of indigenous Australian culture, which is highlighted through Thompson’s photography, sculpture, performance, film and video works.
