Colindale: Teen charged with murder after tennis court death

A teen has been charged with the murder of a young man found stabbed following a brawl at tennis courts in north London.

Al-Sadiq Mohamed Ishaq-Adam, 22, suffered a wound to the chest as families sat enjoying the bank holiday weather in Montrose Park, Colindale on May 31.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the air ambulance and passers-by, Al-Sadiq was pronounced dead.

The deceased was initially identified as Azadeeq Mohamed, 18, by those who knew him in London.

However, close family overseas have confirmed his full name and that he was born in August 1998.

Nick Kaneza, 18, of Elstree Road, Hemel Hempstead, is due to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with murder.

Another 18-year-old Mohammed Yusuf, of Capitol Way, Colindale appeared at the same court on Friday accused of robbery. He was remanded in custody.

A post-mortem examination held on Thursday, at Northwick Park Hospital, found Al-Sadiq’s cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest.

Ten other males have been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of offences including affray, robbery and murder. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information, video or images that could assist the investigation are asked to call 101, quoting reference CAD 5436/31May, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
