FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. _ Just 20 minutes before the Colin Kaepernick workout was to start, it was moved from the Falcons' facilities in Flowery Branch to Charles Drew High School in Riverdale by player's representatives.
Kaepernick's representatives had issues with the NFL-arranged workout, the media availability and the conditional insurance claims.
About 10 teams had arrived at the Falcons' facilities, including the Jaguars, Dolphins, Seahawks, Bears, and Rod Graves, the executive director of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, was present.
A group of wide receivers, who were going to catch the passes, had also arrived and had their gym bags.
One team official said that Kaepernick's representatives wanted to film the workout and distribute the film because they didn't trust NFL films producing the video.
Also, the Kaepernick representatives allegedly wanted to take the narrative from the NFL because the workout was arranged on such short notice and had the tenor of a publicity stunt.
Once the news of the switch broke, about 50 media members left to make the 1-hour, 9-minute trek across the metro area.
