Colin Farrell trying to explain the name of famous Dublin restaurant chain Abrakebabra to US host Jimmy Kimmel is pure television gold

Colin Farrell was on Jimmy Kimmel Live promoting his new movie Dumbo but spent a large chunk of the interview talking about one of Dublin's finest establishments.

The Dubliner found it very hard to convince the TV show host that a famous Dublin restaurant chain existed.

Jimmy Kimmel thought Farrell was having him on when he said that his favourite food place in the capital was none other than Abrakebabra

Ryan Tubridy jetted out on holiday with new love and looked so happy wellwishers thought he was engaged 

The Castleknock native said: "I have a kebab shop that I go to. A place called Abrakebabra that's getting great press."

Kimmel was a bit skeptical and hit back with "Oh come on, that's really a name?"and that's when Farrell really showed his love for the place.

"What the f***? It's a cultural flagship in my country man, it's a huge franchise.

Picture This support act at the 3Arena Lewis Capaldi nabbed himself a Copper Face Jacks gold card but he's angered his Dublin fans 

"It hasn't left the shores of Ireland to go anywhere else so you really have to come to the island to get that 3am kebab going." 

He added: "I have a gold card [and with it] you get free kebabs for life. I was the first to get a gold card, they did it for me.

"Bono has one now, I doubt he uses it. I doubt there's any other creature pathetic enough to use it. I use it - I haven't paid for a kebab in five years."

Colin joked that he had promoted the Dublin food place more on the press tour than the actual movie itself.
