Colin Farrell will be honoured with a special award for his ‘career-best’ performance in The Banshees of Inisherin at Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The Palm Springs International Film Awards announced that Farrell will receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his work in the Martin McDonagh hit film in January.
Festival Chairman Harold Matzner said: "Colin Farrell reunites with Brendan Gleeson and director Martin McDonagh in the masterful comedy The Banshees of Inisherin.

"Farrell gives a memorable performance as Pádraic, a sweet-souled Irish farmer trying to save his lifelong friendship.
"For this career-best performance, we are honoured to present the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor to Colin Farrell."
It comes as the Dubliner has been tipped for an Oscar nomination alongside writer-director McDonagh and his co-stars Brendan Gleeson and Kerry Condon since the film’s release.
“The Banshees of Inisherin” follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson).
When Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship, Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship.
Farrell's Desert Palm Achievement will add to a growing list of accolades, including a Golden Globe he picked up for his performance in In Bruges, also directed by McDonagh.
Previous actors to receive the Desert Palm Achievement include Riz Ahmed, Jeff Bridges, Bradley Cooper, Daniel Day-Lewis, Adam Driver, Colin Firth, Andrew Garfield, Matthew McConaughey, Gary Oldman, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt and Eddie Redmayne - many of whom also received Best Actor Oscar nominations in the same year.
The Film Awards run in conjunction with the Palm Springs International Film Festival, which will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center on January 5 2023.
