Colin Coates leaves Crusaders: 53 photos of the defender's time at Seaview

Crusaders fans will miss Colin Coates.

The Seaview legend is part of the Shore Road club's folklore.

A one-club defender, up to now, Coates wore the captain's armband during the most successful period in Crusaders' history.

A spell that saw the 34-year-old win countless trophies including three league titles, two Irish Cups, a League Cup and the all-Ireland Setanta Cup.

Coates joined Glenavon on Thursday in an 18-month deal, bringing the curtain down on a glittering career with the Crues.

The non-nonsense centre half made 577 appearances for the Hatchetmen since being introduced to the first team in 2002, scoring 73 goals.

Check out our gallery of photos from Coates' career at Crusaders - there are some crackers in there.
