A 30-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and a number of other offences after a serious assault in Coleraine.
The victim, aged in his 40s, was assaulted in the Blackthorn Court area shortly before 11.30pm on Wednesday. He remains in hospital.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives have charged a 30-year-old man with a number of offences, including attempted murder.
"The man is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 5 July).
"As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
