Coleraine place defender Aaron Canning on transfer list

Coleraine have placed defender Aaron Canning on the transfer list.

The versatile centre-half was not in the Bannsiders' squad for last night's Europa League defeat to Motherwell.

Coleraine issued a brief statement on Friday night to announce that Canning had been made available to other clubs.

It read: "Coleraine FC can confirm that Aaron Canning has been placed on the transfer list…

"The Club will be making no further statement at this time."

Canning is currently in his second spell at the Showgrounds after rejoining Oran Kearney's side back in 2018.

The 28-year-old defender was named Coleraine 's Player of the Year that following season, and was also voted the North West club's top performer last term.

Canning - who is approaching 300 appearances with the club over those two spells - is contracted to Coleraine until the summer of 2023 after signing a new deal earlier this year.
