Coleraine make their second signing of the summer with capture of Larne forward Lee Lynch

Coleraine have made their second major transfer move of the summer window with the signing of Larne forward Lee Lynch for an undisclosed fee.

Lynch, who can play in a number of positions and scored nine goals for the Inver Reds last season, has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.

The 30-year-old, who represented the Republic of Ireland at underage level, joins Jack O’Mahony who arrived at the Showgrounds from Glenavon last month.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney said: “Lee is a player I've always admired and someone who I've always been interested in signing.

“He has had a huge amount of success in his career and can play in a number of different positions, which suits us and his quality will add to what we have here.

“He’s keen to come here, hungry to kick on and we are delighted to have him on board.”

Lynch, who joined Larne from Sligo Rovers in January 2019, started out at West Bromwich Albion and played for the Republic’s U19, U18 and U17 teams.

He went on to spend some time at the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain before returning home in 2011 to help keep Drogheda United in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland.

The versatile forward moved to Sligo in 2012 and helped the Bit O’Reds secure the league title in 2012 and FAI Cup 12 months later.

He also enjoyed spells with St Patrick’s Athletic, Limerick, Hamilton Academical in Scotland and FC Arizona in the States- before returning to Sligo for a second spell in 2018.

During his time at Larne, Lynch helped the club secure promotion to the Danske Bank Premiership in 2019 and lifted the County Antrim Shield twice.
