Coleraine chairman hoping to offer clarity to fans over capacity level

Coleraine chairman Colin McKendry says the club hopes to be in a position next week to update fans on crowd capacity for the start of the new Premiership season.

The Bannsiders kick-off their 2020/21 campaign with a derby clash against Ballymena United at their Showgrounds home.

It remains unclear how many fans will be allowed to attend the curtain-raiser due to ongoing restrictions around Covid-19.

McKendry told Coleraine's website: “The club has carried out a comprehensive review of the safety protocols and risk assessments required to ensure supporters attending matches do so in a safe environment and we have forwarded these to the local council for their consideration.

“We anticipate a response from them early next week, and we will then be in a position to inform fans of our ticketing proposals etc as soon as possible.

“The club would like to thank the supporters for their patience and understanding over this matter."
