Coleen Rooney wishes son Kai happy 12th birthday with adorable unseen snap

Coleen Rooney has wished her son Kai a happy 12th birthday with a sweet pic of the young footballer.

The mum-of-four took to Instagram congratulating Kai on his special day and uploaded an adorable snap of him grinning from ear to ear wearing an Icon cap.

Captioning the pic Coleen wrote: "Happy Birthday @kairooney10. Love you so much".

Coleen had earlier uploaded a photo of Kai and his brothers standing around his birthday cake, which was shaped like a pair of red football boots.

Dad Wayne Rooney posted: "What a wonderful boy. Happy 12th birthday. We LOVE you."

Kai is following in his dad's footballing footsteps as he has signed for Manchester United.

The Red Devils' record scorer shared a picture of his son putting pen to paper alongside wife Coleen.

He wrote: "Proud day. Kai signing for @ManUtd. Keep up the hard work son."

Kai, 12, was Rooney's first son with Colleen, born in November 2009.

The couple have three more sons: Klay, 7, Kit, 4 and Cass, 2.

Wayne, who is currently interim manager at Derby County was one of the Red Devils most successful signings.

He scored 253 goals in 559 games - the most of any player ever to don the famous red shirt.

Speaking last year, he said: "Yeah I'm a proud dad.

"He went on trial with Manchester United and he's impressed the coaches. He signed his forms so I'm delighted for him."

Kai's mum Coleen recently shared a sweet throwback snap of herself and her late sister, Rosie McLoughlin, from her wedding day.

The WAG uploaded the photo on Tuesday and captioned the post with an angel emoji.

Rosie was chief bridesmaid on the couple's big day before she tragically died at the age of 14 after battling Rett syndrome. Rosie's illness inspired Coleen and her England footballer Wayne to help raise funds for sick, disadvantaged and disabled children.

The couple reportedly told guests at their wedding that instead of gifts they wanted donations to Claire House Children's Hospice and Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
