Coleen Rooney pays emotional tribute to sister on 9 year anniversary of death

Coleen Rooney shared a tearful tribute to her late little sister Rosie McLoughlin on the ninth anniversary of her death.

The wife of footie ace Wayne Rooney took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking message to Rosie, who died at the age of 14 in 2013 following a lifelong battle with a rare brain disorder Rett syndrome, which causes severe disabilities.

In an emotional post with a snap of her late sister, Coleen wrote: " 9 years today Ro. Thinking about you every day. Love you always #OurAngel."

Coleen's followers sent their love to the star in the comments, with one person writing: "Aww the Lovely Rosie, Always remembered."

"Sending love to you all … remembering beautiful Rosie," a second shared.

A third added: "Always remembered. It never gets easier. Thinking of you all x x"

In October, Coleen uploaded a throwback snap with her sister exchanging a tender moment on Coleen's big day in June 2008.

Rosie - who was fostered by Coleen's parents Tony and Colette when she was two-years-old - was chief bridesmaid when she Wayne tied the knot with childhood sweetheart Wayne.

Coleen can be seen in her white bridal gown and with a long veil clipped to her hair as she bends down to chat to Rosie in her wheelchair.

Rosie's illness inspired Coleen and her England footballer Wayne to help raise funds for sick, disadvantaged and disabled children.

The couple reportedly told guests at their wedding that instead of gifts they wanted donations to Claire House Children's Hospice and Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

Coleen had been in Barbados with her younger brothers, Joe and Anthony, in January 2016 when they were called to say that Rosie's condition had deteriorated.

The family immediately cut short their trip and rushed to be by the youngster's side.

A statement from the McLoughlins at the time said: "Sadly our special angel Rosie, our much-loved daughter and sister, went to Heaven at 2.50 this morning at home where she was surrounded by her loving family.

"Rosie was just 14 years old and fought a lifelong battle with Rett syndrome. Throughout her life she brought so much love and happiness to all our family and everyone who knew and met her.

"She was such a strong little girl and an inspiration to us all. We shall cherish for ever the memories we have shared and the love she showed us each and every day of her life. As a family we are heartbroken but we are blessed to have had her in our lives."
