Coleen Rooney looks stunning in little black dress in solo appearance at first star-studded event since Wagatha trial

Coleen Rooney was all smiles as she hit the blue carpet in her first public appearance at a star-studded event since winning her Wagatha Christie legal battle against Rebekah Vardy. She was showing her support at the Football For Change Gala 2022, rubbing shoulders with famous faces from the showbiz and footballing world.

Coleen headed to Manchester's Old Trafford Cricket Ground for the glitzy event, which was hosted by Bolton's very own Vernon Kay. She was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Coronation Strete stars Tina O'Brien and Samia Longchambon, TV and West End star Claire Sweeney, and comedian Jason Manford.

And Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher was also the man of the moment after pulling together the all-star line-up for the event, which featured performances from Noel Gallagher and Mel C, to raise money for projects up and down the country through Football for Change.

And Coleen dazzled in a little black dress as she posed for the waiting photographers on the blue carpet. She cut a stunning figure-hugging in the black mini dress which featured one sleeve and a cut out shoulder detail and chain strap.

She teamed the body-skimming number with a pair of black and diamante heels and added sparkling earrings and bracelets to glam up her look before popping her must-have essentials in a matching black clutch bag. Coleen, 36, also swept her brunette locks into an elegant bun for the evening.

Other guests included former Coronation Street stars Lucy Fallon and Brooke Vincent also stuck with the black-tie theme at Thursday night's event, both donning different styles of black dresses as the posed for the cameras.

Coleen was left solo for the occasion as husband Wayne is currently in the United States where he is coaching Major League Soccer team DC United. Guests at the event were treated to a lavish meal before partying the night away to music from headliner Noel, Spice Girl Melanie C and newly engaged Emeli Sande.

It is the first time mum-of-four Coleen has been seen at a big event since the end of her and Rebekah Vardy's libel trial earlier this year. Coleen conducted a sting operation in 2019, accusing Vardy online of leaking private stories about her to The Sun. Mrs Vardy has always denied she passed information to the newspaper in the case dubbed the 'Wagatha Christie' trial.

In the High Court at the end of July Mrs Justice Steyn ruled Coleen's accusation was "substantially true" and she effectively won the court battle of the WAGs. The judge wrote of Vardy's libel action: "The claim has been dismissed. The defendant succeeded in establishing that the essence of the libel was substantially true."

Last month Coleen delighted fans with snaps of 'normal' family day out at the beach. She cut a sunshine figure in a buttercup yellow bathing suit as she sunned herself on the sands with hubby of 14 years Wayne and their brood. The family, who had been holidaying in America, were all smiles as they went on a day trip together.

Fans remarked how 'normal' the scenario was as Coleen, 36, posted snaps on her Instagram of her boys digging in the sand. And they were delighted to see the Rooneys keeping it 'real' with a large bag filled with essentials for the day ahead including a kitchen roll. C

Meanwhile, former footballer Jamie had previously raised £350,000 thriugh a lavish celebrity lunch and then a dinner, held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, last November. His latest black-tie gala in Manchester aimed to raise another £350,000 for the charity, Football for Change.
