Coleen Rooney has claimed someone with access to Rebekah Vardy's Instagram account has been acting as a secret mole by selling details about her personal life to the press for years.
Mum Coleen went on an extraordinary Twitter rant where she accused the wife of Jamie Vardy or others who have access to her social media, of betraying her trust by leaking information from her private Instagram account.
Rebekah, 32, swiftly hit back - denying her claims and accusing her of 'disgusting' behaviour, especially considering that she is eight months pregnant.
The remarkable row hit fever pitch as the highest paid WAGs accused each other of poor behaviour on both sides.
Coleen, 33, told her followers she became suspicious when stories were getting published about her that only her select followers could know about.
It was then that she came up with a plan to catch whoever it was by planting false stories about her basement flooding, returning to TV and gender selection to see if they got reported.
Coleen admitted she blocked all of the accounts that followed her - except the one belonging to Rebekah Vardy - and found that the false stories made it to the press.
Coleen wrote: "For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing the sun newspaper of my private posts and stories.
"There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and family - all without my permission or knowledge.
"After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion."
Coleen then revealed the details of her plan to expose the perpretator.
She explained: "To try and prove this, I came up with an idea. I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except one account (those on my private account must have been wondering why I haven’t had stories on there for a while.)
"Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into the Sun newspaper. And you know what, they did!
"The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the later story about the basement flooding in my new house.
"It’s been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to.
"Now I know for certain which account / individual it’s come from. I have saved and screens hotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them.
"It’s......... Rebekah Vardy’s account."
Just minutes later, Rebekah fired off a response to the accusations on her own social media page.
In a blistering statement, Becky accused other people of accessing her Instagram account and said she was "disgusted" by Coleen's allegations.
The pregnant I'm A Celebrity star wrote: "As I have just said to you on the phone, I wish you had called me if you thought this.
"I never speak to anyone about you as various journalists who have asked me to over the years can vouch for.
"If you thought this was happening you could have told me & I could have changed my passwords to see if it stopped.
"Over the years various people have had access to my insta & just this week I found I was following people I didn't know and have never followed myself.
"I'm not being funny but I don't need the money, what would I gain from selling stories on you?
I liked you a lot Coleen & I'm so upset that you have chosen to do this, especially when I'm heavily pregnant.
"I'm disgusted that I'm even having to deny this. You should have called me the first time this happened."
It's understood that Coleen and Rebekah formed a friendship when their footballer husbands were both called up to the England squad at the same time.
They were spotted sat beside each other as they cheered on the national side at the Euros in 2016.
It was claimed at the time that Wayne had 'warned' Jamie about Rebekah.
The Times alleged that Rooney told his teammate to make sure Rebekah didn't distract from his efforts with her social media posts.
