Coleen Rooney breaks silence on Dubai holiday after Wagatha Christie trial

Coleen Rooney took to Instagram for the first time since jetting off to Dubai on the last day of the so-called Wagatha Christie trial.

Coleen shared an update with fans on Sunday after returning home from the family holiday with her husband Wayne, their four kids - Kai, 12, Klay, 8, Kit, 6, and Cass, 4 - and her parents. It's the first time she has posted since the high profile libel trial at the high court involving herself and Rebecca Vardy.

It comes after the 36-year-old was pictured at Manchester Airport with her husband Wayne Rooney and family on the morning of May 19 - the same day that the trial came to a close. Coleen shared a series of snaps from Dubai on Instagram with the caption: "We had the best Family holiday 2022. Dubai you were fantastic #grateful."

In the photos, the family could be seen swimming with dolphins, sailing on a yacht and enjoying a day at the beach as they soaked up the sun. Coleen and Wayne were all smiles with their arms wrapped around each other in one photo, while another showed the family-of-six in the water with a dolphin.

The couple are celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary today, having been together since they were at school. The trip to Dubai was said to have been booked in advance by the couple's lawyers and it was the first time they did not appear at court together during the libel trial.

Their barrister David Sherborne told the court the couple had asked him to pass on "individual apologies" and to explain "that they intend no disrespect to the court".

The lawyer, highlighting that the husband and wife had attended the trial throughout so far, added: "They had a long-standing travel arrangement with their four children which was booked in advance by their lawyers."

Mr Sherborne said this was done on the understanding that Thursday was not going to be a day the court was sitting. The judge, Mrs Justice Steyn, said: "I don't take offence".
