Coleen Rooney and Katie Price celebrate end of home-school as kids go back

With coronavirus cases finally on the retreat, schools across England reopened on Monday.

And after months without a moment's break from their children, parents across England celebrated as they marked the end of homeschooling.

Leading the way were celebrities including Coleen Rooney, Stacey Solomon and Katie Price, who all took to social media to mark the occasion.

Mother-of-four Coleen made no secret of her relief, admitting to finding the 11 weeks since schools shut down in December 'tough'.

The wife of footballing ace Wayne Rooney wrote: "A massive congratulations to all us Mums, Dads, family members, carers, teachers and children for getting through homeschooling the past few months!!

"I found it tough!! So glad school is back."

When a follower commented that their child was self-sufficient, the 34-year-old responded by clarifying that it was her younger children who needed her guidance.

She wrote: "My 11 year old was fine getting on with it but my 7 and 5 year old needed my help."

Working mum Stacey Solomon was among those celebrating, although after so much time with her children she admitted to mixed emotions.

Stacey, who published a book, continued with her commitments as a presenter on Loose Women and even planned a wedding during lockdown, was not alone in looking forward to some peace and quiet.

"I just had to come on here to say Good luck to everyone sending their babies back to school today. I know it's a mixture of relief and worry, happiness and sadness all at once. But you've been incredible. And done such an amazing job."

The mum-of-three and stepmum to one also thanked teachers for their hard work.

Stacey wrote: "Good luck to everyone in education who have worked tirelessly and so hard to keep our children safe and learning throughout this time."

And she told her oldest two sons: "Good luck boys and to all of the children going back today."

For mum-of-five Katie Price, the day was an especially bright one as she celebrated the reopening.

She shared a picture of her two youngest, Bunny and Jett, grinning in school uniform as they carried their water bottles and munched on crumpets.

Wrote Katie: "Finally my babies are back at school and they are so excited."
