Coleen Nolan tells Loose Women she 'finds it hard' to celebrate Bernie's birthday

Coleen Nolan has admitted that she finds it 'hard' to celebrate her late sister Bernie's birthday.

The 56-year-old Loose Women star was in the ITV studios today alongside co-stars Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford and Ruth Langsford when they touched upon the topic of Prince Philip's death.

After pictures surfaced of the Queen at the recent memorial, the cast was asked how they have mourned their loved ones.

Chatting about the topic 'Grief: How to cope on special days,' the Loose Women panel admitted that everyone has different ways of coping following the loss of a loved one. The discussion started with Gloria Hunniford reflected on dealing with the death of her daughter Caron Keating.

At one point, Coleen, whose sister Bernie sadly died in 2013, admitted that she found it 'hard' to do anything to mark the date that her sister passed or her birthday.

"Its very strange for me because my family and lots of friends and people online, they all remember Bernie's passing and Bernie's birthday. I tend to not... I find it hard to do anything," Coleen admitted.

"It's not that I ignore it, it's just that I think of Bernie at some points every day.

She added: "So I don't want to ignore her, certainly the day she died, because that just makes me sad. And every other day, people celebrating her birthday and things makes me realise that she's not here. I still always try and imagine that she is."

Coleen's sister Bernie sadly died following a battle with breast cancer in 2013.

However, since then the Nolan sisters have been rocked with further sad news after it was revealed that sisters Linda and Anne had also been diagnosed with cancer.

Linda has incurable liver cancer, while sister Anne was given the all-clear after battling breast cancer.

Coleen said losing sister Bernie was "catastrophic" in a recent interview with Piers Morgan (ITV)

Speaking about the passing of Bernie during a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Coleen tearfully added: "Losing Bernie was just catastrophic in our family. She was the life and soul of our family. We all pulled each other through it."
